What can we read about Thanksgiving Day

I got this book at BORDERS book store because I liked the illustrations. After reading it I realized that it was not the very best book about Thanksgiving Day. I want to find something as colorful as this book but also more meaningful so my kids will start to learn about this Day from the best. Any advise?

Gap bargans

As Emma outgrow her size 4 clothes I needed some new t-shirts and jeans for her. I went to the GAP.com and find some nice things for a good price. I am so excited! Here is Emma posing in her new clothes.

New pajamas too

Also my friend gave us over 12 t-shirts size 5!!! So I just need to get her one more pair of jeans and maybe a couple skirts and dresses. Praise God for His provision!

Painting a leaf

If you do not like an idea of spending money on some kind of drawing curriculum then you may like my idea of starting some painting lessons. I decided to teach Emma to paint simple things that she can see like leaves, snowflakes, tree or a house. So for the first lesson we went to the park and pick up some leaves. Then I was painting them together with Emma

Here is her work in process
When daddy asked Emma what is it she replied:"This is a leaf and it looks just like mommies, but she didn't color hers very well":)
And this one is mine.

Decorating the Nursery

We just added these blue stripes to CJ's already green walls. Then of course we decided we needed to add crown molding too. I like the colors because they could work for either a boy or a girl.

On becoming preschool wise

I am a "baby wise" parent and I am glad that it is not ends when your baby becoming a toddler and a preschooler. I am reading this book and I learned a lot of very useful information about managing Emma's days and getting her ready for a preschool and school. It also answered some questions I had about children's development. Anyway good stuff, good stuff:)

Baby doll blanket

Emma was given this little blanket for her baby doll. You can see it on her face that she absolutely loves it and she is not ready let that baby an that blanket go ever. I think it is really cute idea and it is so easy to make that kind of blanket if you are looking for a gift for a little girl. Just take a pink flees, cut ends and tie knots:)

Last year Pirate Birthday Party

I want to have a collection of the birthday parties themes in case anyone will have a need for one. So here is a Pirate Party that we went with Emma last year. All boys had black bandannas and an eye patch, an ear ring and a fabric belt. I think it was very easy and clever:) Than they could take their outfits home as a party favor.
This is a cake made as a pirate ship with some play mobile toys on top of it. I like the Swedish fish in the water:)

This are some decorations on the table

Pirate flag and "Happy birthday" sign on the window

Here is Emma in the girl's version of the pirate costume. Bandanna was pink and she also got some beads and a pink belt

Nursery Bedding

As you know I have two girls but non of them had an "official" nursery bedding:) With having our own house it is more fun to decorate their room. So I decided to look for a nice girly looking quilt and sheet for Anastasia's crib.
I really like this Daisy Garden Nursery bedding from Pottery Barn, but it is so expensive!!! Only quilt costs 79 dollars!
Than I find out that baby Gap opened a new home department and there I liked Miss Ladybug's Garden bedding set. But it was not cheap - 249.00 and I do not need all set anyway.

Finally we went to the big city and at the Burlington Coat Factory in baby depot I found this cute Flutter Flowers bedding from "Just Born " for 49 dollars. I use only qult and sheet as you can not put skirt on our crib and there is no need for the bumber for one year old baby (anyway I can use it later ).

Melissa and Doug Toys

I do like "Melissa and Doug" toys. All toys that we have were given to Emma or Anastasia as a gift, but even if I'll have to buy it they worth every penny.
Wooden Shape Sorting Clock - this is what I want for Emma:) Two toys in one! Combines shape sorting and learning to tell time. It also has colors. Emma started to ask us "What time is it?" so I think it will be a great toy to play with her.
Pizza Party - Anastasia got this set for her birthday but she didn't get to play it first as Emma and other kids took over :) They love to cut and serve pizza. Emma plays it now with Stacia and feeds her.
Sandwich Making Set - Emma's favorite. It was given to her on her birthday and she plays it ever sinse. She likes to ask what would I like and we pretend eating sandwiches with her.
Fish Colors Mix'n Match Peg - This puzzle was given Emma on her second birthday and she learned how to match colors very fast. She still plays it just for fun and I think it is Anastasia's turn to learn. I highly recommend this for your toddler to learn colors:)
Magnetic Bug Catching Game - It was also given to Emma on her last birthday and she likes to play it when I ask her to catch this or that bug. I like to do it in Russian and she prefers English:)

Organizing girls closet

With moving in to our new House and putting girls in the same room I had to make several decisions about organizing their stuff. So I found this canvas utility totes at "Bed, Bath and Beyond" and I really like them! I just feel bad that we got only two of them. Next time we will go to the big city I will get more of those and not only for the girls:)
I like their clear pockets where I can put a name, so I can see whose tote I am going to get. I keep little things in them such as Underwear, socks, tights and tanks for Emma and onesies, socks, tights for Anastasia

I divided the closet on two sections: on one side everything is for Anastasia and on the other for Emma

This cute tags I made using a Creative Memories ABC stickers and other stickers too:)

If you have any tips about organising stuff for your kids please tell me as I am trying to think about other ways as well

Easter Sunday

I think little argyle vests are the cutest for toddler boys! They help cover up the wrinkled shirt that boys can never keep tucked in, they look stylish, they're comfortable, and they add a bit of pizzaz to an otherwise dull outfit.
